About Us

Gabriel’s Closet is a children’s consignment boutique dedicated to providing fun, stylish, “I just couldn’t resist” clothes (up to size 12), accessories, gear, books, toys, as well as maternity and some postpartum items. We aim to provide a fun, relaxing, boutique experience without the boutique prices. You will find over 100 unique brands in our store, with inventory that is priced 35-75% below retail prices.

We know that your time is precious. That's why we exist. We desire to save you time while also making some you some cash. When its time for your child to size up, bring us your favorite finds for a new mama to fall in love with.

We hope that you will be able to use the money you save by shopping, or make by consigning, towards other memorable family experiences and adventures. We know that time with your little ones passes quickly, and we want to help you make the most of it. Relationships are at the core of all that we do -- we can’t wait to meet you!

Local History + Future Vision

Long before Gabriel’s Closet, current owner Deb Byers ran a successful children’s consignment boutique named Hey Diddle Diddle in uptown Park Ridge. Through this store, she outfitted her own three children and served many families in the community.

Now, 25 years later, while raising her two boys, her daughter Laura (LZ) has developed a similar passion for helping mamas save time and make money. In addition to Deb’s vision of a boutique experience at a reasonable price point, Laura’s years in pastoral and non-profit work have served to expand Deb’s dream. In a colliding of two visions, Gabriel’s Closet was born in 2020. This new name represents a revitalized vision and is an ode to Laura’s second-born son.

Together, Deb and Laura strive to offer an excellent experience for our shoppers and our consignors. We have put our hearts, heads, and generational gaps  together to consider how we can create the best customer experience as well as have the greatest impact for good in our neighborhood, our city, and our planet.
