Limit of 1 appointment per consignor per season.
Whether you are a new or current consignor, please read all guidelines on this page prior to coming to every consignment appointment. We made several changes that took effect in January 2025 and will continue to make updates as our business grows and changes.
Please review all items prior to your appointment and bring only those items that align with our brand and condition expectations as described on this page. You may bring a maximum of 50 items to your appointment. If you bring more than 50, we'll ask you to sort your items and choose the 50 that you want us to review. Excess items, as well as any that don't fit our brand/quality expectations, will be taken home with you.
Please note that we may limit the number of items that we accept in certain categories based upon current inventory levels. We will accept only 10 items per appointment from our "Every Day Favorites" brand list found at the bottom of this page.
Consignor Terms:
- Consignment Period: The 90-day consignment period of an item begins when the item is first put up for sale on any of the Gabriel's Closet sales channels. During your appointment, items may be accepted for a future season and will be held until the appropriate time to launch for best sales opportunity. Gabriel's Closet reserves the right to extend the period of sale past 90 days in its sole discretion.
- Net Sales Price means the price at which an item is sold, less applicable discounts and promotions and excluding taxes and shipping. The Net Sales Price shall be determined by Gabriel's Closet in its sole discretion.
- Gabriel's Closet will conduct promotions & sales as needed to manage its business without any need for prior approval from Consignor.
- Commission: Consignors receive a commission of 34% of the Net Sales Price of property sold by Gabriel's Closet when the Net Sales Price is below $50. For items sold at a Net Sales Price of $50 or more, consignors receive 50% of the Net Sales Price.
- Payment: Consignors can receive sales proceeds by:
- Check - call/email to request a payout for items that have completed their 90-day consignment period, and then pick up your check in the store.
- ACH deposit - enroll in our SimpleACH payment program (hosted on the DWOLLA platform) to have your payout deposited directly to your bank account. The $2.50 ACH platform processing fee that we are charged to initiate the payment will be deducted from your payout.
- Store Credit plus a 20% bonus - credit can be used to shop in-store or online.
- Unsold Property: Items priced less than $25 that remain unsold at the end of their 90-day consignment period will not be returned to the Consignor and become property of Gabriel's Closet. Items priced $25 or more may be picked from the sales floor by the Consignor within 7 calendar days before/after the end of the 90-day consignment period (14 day pickup window) and if not picked up become property of Gabriel's Closet. Unsold items that become property of Gabriel's Closet may be sold or donated to a local charitable organization such as Share our Spare or Helping Hands.
- Tracking Items: Consignors receive access to our Consignor Access portal, and can track the status and expiration date of all consigned items as well as view their current account balance. New consignors receive a "Welcome to ConsignorAccess" email from app@consignoraccess.com with their Consignor ID number after their first consignment appointment.
Quality is key. Quantity is not our goal.
The quality of our items is extremely important to us. We want our customers to have an assurance that any purchase they make with us will be in both excellent condition as well as safe.
Pricing
We work hard to sell your items and give them ample exposure in our brick and mortar store as well as our online store. We do diligent research and price items at a point that is both fair to the consignor and a great deal for our customers.
Expected Item Condition:
- Clothing and Outerwear must be freshly laundered, ready for floor display, and folded neatly in your bin/bag. Items must be free of damage, excessive wear, stains, and pet hair.
- For Infant Clothing (sizes 0-24 months) we do not accept separates and items should either be a one piece outfit, or a set (i.e. shirt + pants).
- All Goods and Toys must be clean, have all their parts and pieces and be in working order (i.e. sound and lights functioning) with fresh batteries installed. If we need to install batteries, a fee of $1.00 per battery will be charged to your consignor account.
What We Carry
We carry gently used and new children’s clothes and outerwear (up to size 14), shoes (up to size 4Y) costumes/dress-up clothes, goods, gear, toys, books, and select children’s sports items (i.e. cleats, baseball mitts, shin guards, leotards, dance shoes, scooters, bicycles). We do NOT carry cloth diapers, socks, car seats, car seat bases, swings, cribs or stuffed animals.
Items We Accept Seasonally:
- Fall Clothes/Outerwear/Shoes: August-October
- Winter Clothes/Outerwear/Shoes/Snow Boots: October-December
- Spring Clothes/Outerwear/Shoes: January-March
- Summer Clothes/Sandals/Swimsuits: March-June
Items We Accept ALL year:
- Pajamas: Hanna Andersson, Kyte Baby, Little Sleepies, Magnetic Me, Posh Peanut and Tea
- Team Apparel: Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs, Sox, Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame, U of Illinois, etc.

Goods:
- Building toys: blocks, trains, etc. (complete sets only).
- LEGO/Playmobil sets: all pieces and directions. In original box or zip-lock bags.
- “Pretend Play” toys: doll houses, kitchens, barns w/ animals, etc. (Melissa and Doug is great).
- Wooden Montessori style toys (Lovevery is great)
- Puzzles - must have all pieces
- Games with all pieces and in the original box.
- Books (WE LOVE BOOKS!) hardcover only please for non-chapter books. We are also currently accepting a limited number of paperback chapter book series (4+ books of same series that can be bundled together) as we test our customer market for this type of item.
- Toys
- Gear: We do not accept items that have been recalled or are over 5 years old
- Baby Carriers: Lillebaby, Ergobaby, Maya, Moby Wraps, etc.
- Pack and Plays
- Bassinets, Mommaroo, and Baby Breeza
